I have a lot of favorite authors. I feel any author has to be a reader. A list of my favorite authors:
1. Stephen King- Who could not love the king of horror. The genre would not be where it is with out his dive into the unknown.
2. JK Rowling- She has created some fabulous fantasy novels and some amazing crime fiction novels.
3. F Paul Wilson- The Repair Man Jack novels that even Stephen King is a fan of.
4. John Scalzi- Old Man's War is a must read, and Red Shirts will not disappoint.
5. Brandon Sanderson- He is brilliant. He has created a wonderous world with the Mistborn series.
6. Edgar Allan Poe- Who could not love the original king of Horror.
7. Issac Asimov- A far cry from horror, but so far ahead of his time.
8. JRR Tolkien- A legend who brought a sweeping world that still stirs the imagination 83 years later.
9. Clive Barker- Pin head, "We have such sights to show you." He created a hell that stirred the imagination in so many uncomfortable ways.
10. Neil Gaiman- I would read stereo instructions by Neil Gaiman he is such an amazing author. American Gods to Sandman he is an amazing writer.
This list is not in any particular order, just some of my favorite authors that have shaped my writing and my imagination.
